ORACLE
Offshore Risk Analysis for Climate Change Adaptation and Lifetime Extension – ORACLE- aims at providing a decision support system (DSS) to perform risk analysis of offshore foundations. It is focused on optimising the design of scour protections for the extended lifetime of offshore foundations, considering the repowering/upgrade
scenarios and climate change effects. The optimisation combines a new risk-based design methodology with the novel concepts of dynamic and wide-graded single layers. The DSS is implemented with a web user focused interface, for professionals and researchers dealing with fixed foundations applied to marine renewable energy. It
includes a cost-benefit analysis and is demonstrated in selected case-studies. ORACLE includes the physical modelling of scour protections around offshore wind turbines founded in standard and XL monopiles, under currents and waves combined, to fill present knowledge gaps on the topic and to enhance the applicability of the developed
DSS.
